Weddings at the Hall

Coming together to celebrate two lives coming together is a beautiful communal experience and we are always honored to host weddings at Elder Hall.

Whether you are looking for a reception venue or you want to tie the knot and throw a party in the same space, we can accommodate all your plans for your big day. Elder Hall is designed to be as welcoming as a friend’s house and we know your guests will feel that warmth when they step through our doors.

We can customize the space to fit your party, with space for 54 seated guests and up to 75 standing. Our tables are communal and we like to serve family-style to give your guests more reasons to connect with one another. We also have a Beckel Canvas tent that can add room or create another cozy space for your celebration.

Everything we do centers around the kitchen, where chef Jason French and his team will help you create a menu inspired by seasonal, locally sourced food. We also offer full beverage service and can create a custom cocktail to add another personal touch to your special day.

We like to keep things simple at the Hall and let the warmth of the space speak for itself, while reflecting the unique vibe of your wedding. For an additional fee, our event coordinator is available to help design tablescapes and floral arrangements. She will also manage the timing and flow of your event so you can be in the moment on your special day. Please ask about our wedding production services when you inquire about the availability of Elder Hall.

We’d love to chat with you about your celebration. Get in touch with us to inquire about availability and let’s start planning!

Food Book Fete : Full Moon Suppers at Saltwater Farm

It’s warming up outside and we are fired up about all the good things the weather brings! Book Fete is back and we’re honored to welcome chef and cooking school founder Annemarie Ahearn to Elder Hall.

Annemarie founded Salt Water Farm Cooking School in Lincolnville, Maine in 2009. In just a short time, the farm drew guests from far and wide while being featured The New York Times, Bon Appetit, Food and Wine and other publications. The easy nature of Annemarie’s instruction, along with the beauty of Maine’s landscape and the bounty of local farms and fisheries, inspire so many to think of entertaining at home in a whole new way.  In her new cookbook, Full Moon Suppers at Salt Water Farm, Annemarie provides a month-by-month guide to how she creates thoughtful, seasonal, beautifully prepared meals for a crowd. Her full moon suppers are a big draw and showcases how anyone can host a memorable dinner with simplicity and grace.
